Volatile growth in total car sales, rapid growth in new energy vehicles

According to the sales data of all types of automobiles and new energy vehicles provided by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the sales of Chinese automobiles continued to fluctuate but increased slightly from 2015 to August 2017. In addition, based on car production data, the monthly output of cars is almost equal to sales.

According to the "Securities Times" report, although the ban on the sale of traditional energy vehicles has been put on the agenda, but industry sources said that this plan is difficult to achieve within 10 years. According to the analysis of automobile analyst Yan Jinghui: At present, China still uses fuel trucks as its mainstay. When it has not completely switched to the new energy industry, it is unable to do a good job in the after-sales service of holding nearly 200 million vehicles. In this regard, the state can more promote and support the development of new energy sources and make a gradual transition.

How much can new energy vehicles reduce emissions?

In the paper “Analysis of Current Environmental Protection of China's New Energy Vehicle Industry—Based on Field Investigation and Quantitative Calculation Methods”, the author compared the electric vehicles and gasoline vehicles with the same configuration but different power sources, and conducted an emission study.

In comparison, it was found that electric vehicles can save more than two kilograms of coal per hundred kilometers compared with fuel vehicles. If both models calculate the emissions after driving 200,000 kilometers, electric vehicles can save 4195.2 kilograms of standard coal and reduce 10306.2 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. According to the standards of the World Bank in 2015, China's average annual carbon dioxide emission per person is 7.7 tons (7,700 kg). This means that after driving 200,000 kilometers, the carbon dioxide emissions that electric vehicles save are equivalent to an average of more than a year of carbon dioxide emissions from a Chinese.

However, the paper also pointed out that to make new energy vehicles give full play to their environmental advantages, they still need to optimize resources, technologies and costs.
