Particle counters are very important in the detection of the size of particles of various sizes and are used in a large number of fields such as scientific research. For this reason, the accuracy and stability of the particle counter count are particularly important. In order to ensure that the particle counter delivers true and reliable information, a series of calibrations must be performed on it. Therefore, the accuracy of particle counter calibration directly affects the measurement of solid contamination. This article discusses the influencing factors of the accuracy of particle counter calibration and its solutions.

For all particle counters, the electrical and optical parameters of the automatic particle counter are constantly changing due to drift, aging, displacement and wear of the optical components in the electronic circuit. Prior to the particle counter calibration work, make sure that the instrument is used properly, if the previous calibration has been in progress until the middle of the current time, whether it has been repaired, whether the sensor has been replaced, and these problems may affect the deviation in the calibration process.

Sampling volume refers to the actual volume of the particle counter each time the particle counter, which directly affects the particle count results. Therefore, whether the sampling volume is accurate or not has an important influence on the final test results of the particle counter. The vast majority of solid particle contamination levels are graded according to the number of particles per 100 mL of liquid. When the particle counter is calibrated, if the sampling volume is inaccurate, the calibration error will increase, allowing the user to measure the oil. When the degree of solid contamination is large, the results are deviated.
