Mine drainage equipment mainly includes water pumps and water pipes.

(1) Pump and pump house

The mining water pump is generally a centrifugal water pump, as shown in Figure 1. The water is continuously sucked in and discharged mainly by the action of centrifugal force. The single-stage pump has only one impeller, and the lift height is limited. When the lift is large, a multi-stage pump can be used, that is, a plurality of impellers are connected in series on one shaft to increase the lift height. The main drainage equipment for mining is a multi-stage water pump.

According to the regulations, the pump house is generally arranged near the bottom of the auxiliary shaft and connected to the central substation. The explosion-proof door is divided in the middle, which requires good ventilation and is convenient for equipment transportation. The main pump house is provided with at least two outlets, one of which is connected to the wellbore through the inclined lane, which is called the safety exit. It should be higher than the pumping unit floor level by more than 7m; the other outlet is the bottom of the pumping yard, which is the exit for personnel and equipment. Inside the passage, a closed door that is easy to close and that is both waterproof and fireproof should be provided. A reliable control gate should be provided for the connection between the pump house and the water tank. When the gate is closed, the pump room must also have an independent ventilation tunnel.

The ground level of the pump house should be 0.5m higher than the bottom of the well site and 1% slope to the water side.

When the displacement of the pump is less than 100m 3 ·h -1 , the suction pipes of the two pumps can share one suction well, but the distance between the edges of the water filter should not be less than 2 times the diameter of the suction pipe; the displacement is 100m 3 ·h -1 Pumps of above and above shall be provided with separate suction wells.

(2) Drainage pipe

Drain pipes are generally laid in the ducts of the wellbore. When the vertical height is less than 200m, a welded pipe can be used; if the vertical depth exceeds 200m, a seamless steel pipe can be used. At least two main drainage pipes of the mine shall be laid. When one fails, the other must discharge the normal water inflow of the mine for 24 hours within 20 hours. The drain pipe is close to the water pump, and the gate valve and the check valve are set. The gate valve is used for adjusting the displacement and opening and closing the drain pipe; the check valve prevents the water in the water pipe from flowing back into the water pump to damage the impeller when the pump is stopped.
