Audi recently announced its global sales in September. The brand maintained steady growth last month, up 1.7% year-on-year. Sales in China last month increased by 2.6% year-on-year, among which the main models such as Q5 and A6L continued to sell well, and the compact car Q3 rose 50%.

In September, Audi delivered 173,850 units worldwide, up 1.7% year-on-year from 170,891 units in the same period last year. In the first three quarters of this year, the brand's cumulative global deliveries were 1,408,800 units, compared with 1,347,883 units in the same period last year, an increase of 4.5% year-on-year.

Three new cars will be listed

Dr. Dietmar Voggenreiter, Director of Marketing and Sales, Management Board of Audi AG, said, “In the next few months, we will continue to consolidate our updated product lineup. Audi Q2 will be geared towards new consumer groups, the new Audi Q5 will Show Audi's sportiness and appeal again."

The Audi Q2 and the new Audi A5 will arrive in European dealerships in November, and the new Audi Q5, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show a few days ago, will be launched in Europe in early 2017.

Audi sold 84,650 units in Europe last month, up 6.3% year-on-year. Cumulative sales in the first three quarters increased by 7.3% year-on-year to 657,100 units. Among the single markets, the French market saw the largest increase, with the highest sales in the UK. In September, Audi sold 31,214 units in the UK, up 8.5% year-on-year; sales in Germany were 22,512 units, up 3.7% year-on-year; sales in France climbed 16.2% year-on-year to 5,660 units.

In the European market, the new Audi A4 ranked first in the mid-size segment. Last month, about 17,300 consumers chose to buy the car, a surge of 21.6%. The A3 redesigned model is also the main sales volume of Audi in the European market. It sold 21,500 units last month, a 26.4% year-on-year increase.

So far, in the global market, Audi has sold 1.6 million generations of Audi Q5 medium-sized SUVs. The car is the best-selling model in North America, and one of the four consumers will choose to buy the SUV. In September, Audi's SUV deliveries in North America increased by 5.5% year-on-year, exceeding the brand's overall sales growth of 4.1%. Last month, driven by the new A4 40% increase, Audi's US sales increased by 1.6% year-on-year. In the first three quarters of this year, Audi North America's sales increased by 5.1% year-on-year to 186,850 units, and cumulative sales in the US were 152,179 units, up 3.2% year-on-year.


Compact SUV Audi Q3 rose 50%

In September, the Chinese market (including sales in Hong Kong) contributed 54,499 units of sales to Audi, which was 2.6% higher than the 53,095 units in September 2015. It is the largest single market in the brand's global market. In the first three quarters, Audi's cumulative sales in China reached 440,233 units, compared with 414,410 units in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%.

Last month, excluding Hong Kong, only the sales of FAW-Volkswagen Audi in the mainland, the brand's growth was steady, with sales of 54,225 units (including Audi imported cars), compared with 52,894 units in the same period last year, an increase of 2.5%. In the first three quarters, FAW-Volkswagen Audi sold 438,376 vehicles in China, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.

In September, the new Audi A6L and Q5 continued to be stable at “Monthly Sales Clubs”, up 3.4% and 17.0% year-on-year, reaching 12,719 units and 12,268 units respectively.

The Audi Q3, a new generation of compact and compact SUVs launched in April, further strengthened the competitive advantage of this segment of the market. In September, the car sold 8,992 units in a single month, a sharp increase of 53.7% year-on-year.

Sales of the Audi compact car A3 surged 30.8% year-on-year to 7,764 units, leading the high-end market for compact cars.
