The shaft development method can be divided into the development of the lower shaft, the development of the side shaft, and the development of the upper shaft.
1. Lower shaft development The lower shaft development is the most widely used in shaft development. For mines with long going, especially large scales, in order to make underground transportation, mining sequence, production distribution, ventilation, infrastructure speed and roadway maintenance conditions the best, as long as the site, terrain and engineering geological conditions permit, the shaft should be placed in the underground as much as possible. Transport work is minimal or close to the minimum (see Figure 1). This will enable the mine to obtain better economic benefits.

2. Flanking shaft development
When the deposit is limited by the site, topography or engineering geological conditions, if the lower bed of the deposit is not suitable for construction or the original site has been built on one wing of the deposit, the flank shaft can be used for development. When the length of the deposit is short and the construction scale is small, in order to reduce the number of wells And to simplify the transportation and ventilation system, you can also use the flank shaft to develop. When using a flank shaft, the two wings of the deposit, especially the one that is placed in the lift shaft, must be explored. Yangjiazhangzi Mining Bureau Lingqian Mine, Hongqiling Nickel Mine Seven Mining Area (see Figure 2), etc. are all exploited by flank shafts.

3. Open up the shaft
When the lower plate and flank of the deposit have no construction conditions, they have to build a factory on the upper plate (see Figure 3); or the inclination of the deposit is close to vertical or horizontal, the shaft is built on the upper plate for the site and external transportation, infrastructure investment and operation When the fee is superior to the lower plate, the upper shaft can be used for development. Compared with the development of the lower plate and the side shaft, the upper shaft has the following shortcomings: the initial stone door is long, so the amount of infrastructure construction is large, the construction time is long, the investment is large, and the economic benefit is poor when the enterprise is put into production. If the shaft passes through the ore body, it can overcome the above shortcomings, but it needs to leave a security pillar, so it is rarely used.
