Harman of the United States Opens New Factory in Dandong, Liaoning, China

Harman International Industries Corp. announced that it has officially completed the construction of its new factory in Dandong, Liaoning, China. This is part of Harman’s second round of investment ($100 million) to expand manufacturing and R&D capabilities in China. The establishment of the Dandong plant is mainly for the development and production of electronic components and audio systems for leading automotive manufacturers and professional audio customers.

The new plant covers an area of ​​460,000 square feet. The factory was established not only to meet Western automakers, but also to meet the growing demand for audio systems in Asia, including China. In the past few years, Harman had established partnerships with Chinese automakers such as Geely, BYD, and Dongfeng. In addition, Harman will also provide top-notch audio system solutions for non-automotive industry projects (eg, airports, train stations, playgrounds, cinemas, etc.).

The Dandong plant is the fourth plant Harman has established in China. Hamann has production and R&D facilities in Shanghai, Suzhou and Shenzhen in China. It currently employs more than 1,200 people in China.
