In order to fundamentally solve the ecological damage caused by human activities in the core area of ​​Qilian Mountain and the buffer zone, Zhangye City has initiated the relocation of farmers and herdsmen. The investigation of the household survey has been completed, and the relocation plan has been formulated, including ecological compensation and herders resettlement. Work on housing construction has been fully carried out. During the year, 149 households and 484 farmers and herdsmen in the core area will take the lead in moving out. It is understood that after the demarcation of the Qilian Mountain Nature Reserve, the herdsmen in the core area and buffer zone of Zhangye City have dropped from more than 18,000 to 2,213 people after ecological relocation and herdsmen resettlement projects.

The temporary shelter building of the Qiyi Glacier Reception Station has been demolished and the surrounding area has been restored. The Dalong secondary power station in the buffer zone was completely shut down and production stopped. Sunan County has made a decision to close the exit and completely withdraw after legal disputes such as debt settlement. After rectification, the historical goal of no production and operation activities in the core area and buffer zone of Qilian Mountain Nature Reserve has been realized.

At the same time, a pilot project for the ecological protection and restoration project of the Qilian Mountain (Heihe River Basin) landscape in the Qilian Mountains (Heihe River Basin) with a total investment of 5.26 billion yuan has been fully launched. The planned restoration of mine environment, restoration of water ecological environment, restoration of grassland ecological restoration, etc. Projects with 57 categories and 1.75 billion yuan of investment in 9 categories are undergoing preliminary work such as program demonstration, and projects such as forest vegetation restoration have been implemented.
