As the collapse site was located on the south side of the Dehua Bell alley, after the repairs began, the road on the south side was temporarily closed, leaving only the north side road for the passage of cars and pedestrians. The reporter found that the road surface at the collapsed location is slightly darker than the surrounding area. Nearby residents said that this position of collapsed roads had been dug up and repaired sewage pipes last year. Repair personnel said that they could be repaired that night.

At about 7 o'clock this morning, the reporter saw at the scene that the road surface collapsed to a depth of about 1.5 meters, and a perimeter fence had been set up around the collapse site. The construction workers of the Beijing Urban Construction Group are taking light rain to inspect the collapse site. By 9:00 am, the rainfall suddenly increased. The construction workers braved the heavy rain to watch the scene, dredge pedestrians across the road, and prepared to backfill the road. At this time, the number of vehicles on this section of the road increased significantly, and vehicles on the north and south of Wanghua Road need to avoid the trap when passing vehicles.

A staff member at the scene of the Beijing Urban Construction Group stated that the heavy rain in the Wangjing area has continued, and it is likely that excessive rainfall caused the loss of soil under the road surface, which led to collapse. Fortunately, no vehicles were trapped in the pit. After the construction workers found that the road surface collapsed, they set up a fence nearby to ensure the safety of pedestrians. The road surface backfill will also be responsible for the Urban Construction Group. After inspection, the road collapse does not involve damage to the pipelines under the road and it can be directly backfilled.
