As the venue of the 2019 World Garden and the 2022 Winter Olympics, the Yanqing “Clean Index” has been the first in the city for five consecutive years. Yesterday, Yanqing District reported the progress of the Clean Air Action Plan. Yanqing said that it would supervise the vehicles entering Beijing at the entrance of five entrances to Beijing, and resolutely persuaded the vehicles that did not meet the standards.
As the transportation gateway of northwest Beijing, Yanqing is the gateway to Shanxi in Hebei, Hebei and Inner Mongolia. In terms of vehicle exhaust control, Yanqing supervised the vehicles entering Beijing at the entrance of 5 entrances to Beijing, and resolutely persuaded the vehicles that failed to meet the standards. The number of vehicles entering the direction of Beijing has been reduced from around 15,000 vehicles per day in 2012 to around 7,000 vehicles per day. In the past five years, 18,000 old motor vehicles have been eliminated, accounting for 24.2% of the total vehicle ownership in the region.
Chang Yingliu, director of the Environmental Protection Bureau of Yanqing District, pointed out that in order to organize the World Expo and the Winter Olympics, Yanqing strives to achieve 50 micrograms per cubic meter of PM2.5 in 2017 and achieve the “empty” goal of national standards by 2020. By 2020, the proportion of new energy and renewable energy in Yanqing will reach 40%, and the total consumption of coal energy will be less than 3%, and a “no coal zone” will be basically built.
It is understood that Yanqing air quality has maintained the forefront of the city for a long time, ranking first in the city for five consecutive years. In 2015, the average concentration of PM2.5 was 61 μg/m3, which was the lowest in the city.
